ONE ON ONE WITH MR. GOKONGWEI JR.

When we hear the name Gokongwei Jr., it comes to our minds Robinson malls, Sun Cellular, and Robinsons Bank. But when we really get to know the real Gokongwei Jr. he was a humble yet rich man who has a big heart. He may own hectares of land but his wisdom to business management is legendary. 

As a young man Gokongwei Jr. was the son of a Chinese immigrant from China who established a small business here in the Philippines. His father died in 1939 with typhoid. Due to poverty, he and his siblings started to help each other and established the country's largest JG Summits Group. This corporation was the original corporation run by the Gokongwei family for generations. 

He was supported by his beloved wife Mrs. Elizabeth Gokongwei. Based on Mr. Gokongwei, he was a wide reader of great men in history not only in China but also the world. Their achievements, their successes, and their triumphs that made them great. Mr. Gokongwei doesn't like people who doesn't know how cherish history and their humble origins. This is the real Mr. Gokongwei Jr. 

Today the Gokongwei family owns JG Summits Corporation, Robinsons Corporation, Sun Cellular, and Robinsons Land. This success is due to the perseverance and undying faith to oneself to conquer the trials of life and poverty. No matter how hard keep standing up and fight with your spirit, mind and body as Gokongwei Jr. had stated. 

On the interview, Gokongwei Jr. adviced me (the CEO of the NEW YOUTH PRESS) to choose properly my partners in business, Stay away from Politics, to become a good example to others by being morally upright, and by being spendthrift in times of need and also in times of abundance.
