POVERTY AND HOW IT AFFECTS THE FILIPINOS
By: Mark Cua
One
of the main root causes of poverty is the bearing of too much children and thus
its parents incapability of caring and nurturing of their young. The second
root causes of this are the bad environment the young and the Philippine youths
are living in and growing up into. Many of the people in the Philippine society
are bad influence thus making young teens going with the wrong crowd. The third
root causes of poverty is the lack of moral values among the population. Unlike
in the Chinese society, it was run by a central core of breeding and education
system for children and the young. This educational system and the breeding
system is Confucianism. This brought order and breeding among many of the
Chinese youths and overseas Chinese youths.
However
educated they (Filipinos) are in the field of academics if they disregard
morality and values which their forefathers taught them. Then they still had no
difference from the people who are not educated. They will still be the same as
the Spaniards call them ‘Indios’. In English it means stupid people centuries
ago.
