ARMED FORCES OF THE PHILIPPINES PURCHASES 4 NEW MILITARY CHOPPERS

The AFP (Armed Forces of the Philippines) recently purchased Soviet made Helicopters to enhance its military capability. Pzl Sokols Military choppers are used by Soviet, and Polish Military to carry troops, supplies, and sometimes can act as attack helicopter. The 4 (four) Soviet made aircraft was purchased from Poland last week. 

Philippine Military was known in the 1970s as one of the strongest military during the time of the Marcos Regime. It was 2nd or 3rd in Asia. Not only by military might but also through the military hardware. 

After the late President Marcos was ousted, The Philippine Constabulary or the AFP which is now called degraded and weakened dramatically. Added the corruption of the Politicians and their pork barrels which lessen the capability of the government to supply the AFP (Armed Forces of the Philippines) enough funds to purchase new and up to date military hardware. 

Many of the Philippine Military planes are second hand planes just handed down by the American military and sold at a discounted price. This was one of the first time an 'American Petdog' (Philippines) in Asia to purchase what seems to be belonging to the other side of the front line. Although military hardware sold by the Americans to the Filipinos are refurbish it doesn't mean they are in their perfect condition. 

So the Philippine Government instead of buying more Huey Choppers which are old Vietnam War transport choppers, they purchased newly Soviet made military choppers.
