CHAPTER FIFTEEN
FIRST BLOOD
I was on the secret bunker when I heard a newbie in the corner. Assisted by some of our male red cross volunteers. The Elders asked what is going on with him. the red cross volunteer answered He killed someone in a firefight. The elders commanded the red cross medics to bring the soldier to the Clinic.
The new recruit beside was a newly graduated cadet from the Chinese Military School. He was one of the top noctchers in field of marksmanship and infantry. I know from the records he had he was an expert marksman. He commented to his comrade not to brag cause actual combat is different from Military training. In actual combat soldiers die and the buddy beside you can be a dead corpse the next day.
I was sitting just on the small window of the secret bunker and the newly graduated Communist soldier from Tarlac told me that he recognized me. He said my face seemed familiar and I seemed to be in the force for more than 7 years now. I answered him What can I do for him.
he answered me," I know your squad is 'from Hell and Back Boys'"
I just nodded and gave him a smile. I never bragged of where I came from, and what unit I belonged. because I know somewhere out there someone is always better than me maybe he is a chinese soldier or maybe a Russian Soldier. Who can tell.
He commented me," Your humble, Comrade Mark Cua."
He asked me," When was your first blood happened?" I answered him,"Why you wanna know. Don't you have lots of things to do as a soldier on duty." He smiled at me and sat beside me. He told me it was his off duty time so he has the time to chat with me.
I killed my first human when I was 19. My mentor saved me at that time and I used the knife and stabbed a robber to death. I told him. he seemed to be very impressed from my experiences. He asked me who my mentor was. I answered him,"Master Huang."
He nodded and commented, "The legendary Master Huang or General Huang from the PLA (People's Liberating Army) is your mentor. Your such a lucky guy."
I smiled back at him and let him continue his story. My mentor was one of the slayers in the PLA (People's Liberation Army). In the Korean War itself he killed nearly 150 American GIs using his rifle, his sword, and his handgun. The American GIs are no match for his martial arts and close quarter combat skills. He was one of the hardened veterans of the Chinese Revolution.
I asked him,"Do you think it is easy to kill someone?"
He answered me," Yes, just point your gun and shoot." I smiled at him humbly and held his weapon in my hands. I told him to follow me outside the bunker and I grabbed a Civilian. I pulled him to the dark alley in not far from the secret bunker and pushed him to the wall. I gave him his gun and ordered him," Kill this man in front of me and prove your words! Soldier Boy"
He pointed the gun and it took thirty seconds not a single shot was fired.
I told him that answers your arrogance. He said that he is a civilian not a criminal. I informed him about the crimes the person i dragged committed. I told him,"Robbery! Theft!" That is enough ground to shoot this man.
His hands was nimblling and shaking and he couldn't pull a trigger. I showed him how to shoot a man. I took the handgun and levered it. BANG!!!! I shot the man in the leg and he fell to his knees. The man was begging for mercy not to shoot him and promised me not to steal again from the Chinese living in the area. That is how to kill a man! I told him.
I walked away from the alley and tapped his shoulder. I whispered," Boy, you still got a long way to go."
