GOLDEN RETREIVER ORIGIN AND ITS BREED

Characteristics:
It is a medium large size dog breed. The skull is broad and muzzle is straight tapering slighty in a well defined stop. Their eyes are brown and their bite are scissors type.They have relatively short ears down the cheeks.

The tail is thick at base and coat colour is cream golden. They can grow to 60 to 80 inches and 20 to 22 inches. They can weigh up to 60 to 80 pounds and 55 to 70 pounds.

Origin:

Originated in the Scottish Highlands in the 1800s, the golden retreiver was bred by Lord Tweedmorr by breeding Retriever and Spaniel. He later crossed the bloodhound, Irish Setter and Spaniel. The Dogs were called golden flat coat.  

Job Description: 

Golen retriever are good family companions and obedient land and water tracking dogs. They are often used on narcotics.

ST BERNARD DOG BREED AND ORIGIN

Dog Characteristics:

St Bernard has smooth and rough fur. For Smooth coat flat and close, for Rough coat Dense but flat. Black Shading is found the eyes and the ears. Mostly red and white fur colour. 

It is a giant dog and it can weight up to 140 to 264 pounds. 

Origin of the Breed:

Their ancestors are the serenhunds. The Mountain Dog The earliest record of Saint Bernard are from Monks at the Hospice. It is called the Great St Bernard Pass in 1707. 

A Known St Bernard is called Barry. He saved 100 lives back then. His body was preserved in Natural History Museum in Berne. From 1816 to 1818, Many of the St Bernards bred died in many of the avalanches while performing rescues in the Alps. St Bernard were cross bred with New Foundland bred. 

The Younger dogs learned search and rescue from the older dogs. They never received from the monks. Saint Bernard Club was founded in March 18, 1884. It is also called Swiss National Dog.

DOG BREEDING TIPS

(CARING FOR YOUR DOG 24/7)

Dogs are like humans they are not just for our companionship but also needed to taken cared of. They need to be fed properly and injected with anti rabies shot while young. 

Dogs are a responsibility and they are not companions or stuff toys you can throw out of your house. They are also part of our family. 

Here are a few tips to make the life of your dear companions healthy and worry free: 

1. Give them a bath every other day

Just like humans dogs are animals who needs to take a bath too. They are animals who can grow ticks and parasites if they are not given a bath for more than a month. Take time to give them a bath every other day and use shampoos (it can be human shampoos). 

2. Feed them 3 times a day

Just like humans, they need to eat 3 times a day and their diets are important. Some dogs eat human foods like corn, rice, pork, and beef. They need to eat nutritious meals too like vegtables and fruits. 

3. See a Veterinarian if needed

Dogs get sick too and they need medical attention more than humans do. They are our responsibility and they are indeed like a member of our family. Taking care of them means taking care of them like children in our family. 

4. Take them for a walk

Just like humans, they need exercise too. Exercising is important to avoid obesity in Dogs. Some dogs are highly energetic and some wants more exercise so take some time to walk them and make sure you bring them home too safely.

Doberman Breed and Origin

Characteristics:

A Doberman is a working dog and it is called for being a guard dog in our dear homes. This type of Dog is muscular, elegant and graceful good for working as guard dogs. 

This dog can grow up to 26 inches in height and 90 pounds in weight. This breed of Dog is resourceful, intelligent and bold. They are protective in nature and known for their devotion for their human companion. 

They can grow from medium to large sizes. 

Origin of Breed: 

Dobberman came from Germany during the 1860s as Guard Dog and personal guardian. 

Description and Story Behind:

This Dog Breed served on both world wars and also enlisted in the United States Military. They are also called gun dogs. It is a war dog on many nations. They also belong to the K9 Unit class.

Did you know Dogs are the most honest on expressing how they feel and how they think in all of the animals in the animal kingdom.

Dogs are like Children they are honest on how they feel and how they are doing. Their gestures are very evident and dogs are the friendliest and the most open to humans. Dogs deserved to be well taken cared of and they have been part of our family since the day they came into our lives.

Above is the Portrait of the following dog expressions so when your dogs shows or emotes his emotions you can understand what he or she wants to tell you. Dogs are

indeed are just like our dear little brothers and sisters when they are young. They show true emotions and they don't hide it.

Happiness Expression

A dog is showing if it is happy by opening its mouth and putting out its tongue over and over again while looking at its human companion. 

He wags his tail left and right back and forth over and over again. 

Licking the Human Companion

Licking a human Companion means the dog is telling you touch me more i like it. Licking a human is also an expression from the dog equivalent to humans showing affection.

It is also a language for dogs saying " I love you, human Companion"

Stretching 

When a dog is stretching that means he or she is respecting his or her human companion. It is also a basic expression how much he or she loves his or her human companion. 

Sitting Position while Looking 

If this includes he or she is wagging his or her tail that means he or she (Dog)

is waiting for your next action or wait for your command. Another is it wants something from you as a human companion like food or sweets.

This means he or she is showing how much the dog respects his or her human companion and how much he follows the command of the human companion. 

Dog is Crouching and motionless

This expression means the dog is telling you give him some space or he maybe upset.When a dog shows this expression, be careful if not careful he will bite you if you will persuade him.

Another reason is the dog is sick and uncomfortable. You should get him some medical need if needed.

Spitz Breed and its Origins

Characteristics:

This Breed of Dog is characterized by long, thick, and curly tail,often white fur, pointed ears and nose. 

Origin of the Breed:

The Origin of the Breed is from East Asia and Arctic. Latin name "Canis Pomeranus".  Spitz is the combination of wolf and Dog (Wolf's Cousin) mated together. Considered as the oldest breed of dogs. 

It migrated from Siberia to Mongolia and Manchuria. Later transported by humans to Japan. It is the ancestor of Chow chow and Akita Inu. 

Description and Story behind:

Spitz are used as working dogs for hunting, herding, and pulling sleds. Smaller

breeds like the spitz was used in Scandavia to hunt birds and small animals. Three of the large spitz type are Alaskan Malamute, Canadian Eskimo Dog, Promenarian and Greenland Dog. 

They are used to pull sleds until the 19th century. 

This is called National Dog of Netherlands. They are affectionate, loyal, energetic and pet. They are also called "Smiling Mouths".

BEING NATURE LOVER IS NOT JUST A JOB BUT A LIFESTYLE

Everywhere around the world you can find environmentalists, Environmental Non Government Organization, and others that specifically concern the welfare of Mother Nature and its creatures. It is not a job because it is passion. A Passion for cultivating, protecting, and conserving Mother Earth.

How ever developed we are humans are still part of Mother Nature.

 The Food humans eat, the medicine we use to cure illnesses, the houses we built, the clothes we wear everyday and the water we drink are all coming from Mother Earth. When we destroy Mother Earth we destroy ourselves slowly.

Animals like humans have the right to live, to eat, to have a home, to be safe from harm. As a nature lover and environmentalist, preservation and cultivation of these magnificent creatures should be one the top priorities of the government and the people.

There is a sad story in the Philippines. As the human population in the Philippines increases, the green areas and the land where animal should live are dwindling by three folds. One house appears the two will follow. Two houses appear the three will follow to be constructed.

One hectare of land owned by the government is found, the people would use and squander money to purchase the land and destroy every living thing in it. This including green plants, and the rich top soil that can serve as plantation.

Under a democratic government, every inch of land with green is endangered especially to the hands of the human population. The rich would purchase it and build establishments with no assurance of profitability. The poor would Illegally settle and destroy the greens just to build their shanties, and the government would put it under city proper so they could sold it to people who are interested and had the purchasing power.

Development is not bad but always remember to balance it and never remove the balance. Over development is never a benefit to the human population.

CORIGEDOR: The Memoirs of Philippine History

Corrigedor was one of the few tourist destinations near Manila. Just an Island across the Manila Bay and it had been a historical place not only to the Filipinos but also to the old soldiers who fought the Japanese in World War II. 

Since Spanish times it had been an Island Protecting the Port of Manila by Sea. It is through this Strategic Location the Spaniards enforced the protection of Intramuros. By the time of the Americans it was used as military base in case there were forces invading by Sea.

The Japanese swept like tsunamis and bombed it like a stronghold.

In the early 70s President Marcos used the Place as a secret training ground for young Muslim Militants. After 2 decades, the Philippine tourism board made renovations and made Corrigedor a known tourist destination in the Philippines.

There are several places to go to Corrigedor:

1. The old Officers Quarters
The ruins of World War II being heavily bombed by the Japanese. The quarters are made of stone and marble. It housed number of United States Military Officers during the American Colonial Period (1900-1946) in the Philippines.

2. The Old 1900s Cannon
The Cannons that was built to fight ships and men landing on shores. They were built to shoot kilometers away from the shore. Some have the obsolete design of the early 1900s artillery.

3. The Spanish light tower
The light tower constructed by the Spaniards during the 19th Century. It had a 200 years history. Conserved by the Department of Tourism for tourism purposes the light tower and all its surrounding premises are like the way it looks like 200 years ago. This had already thousands of ships to Manila for centuries now.

4. The Malinta Tunnel
Used in World War II as an underground hospital and bomb shelter during the Japanese Raids in 1942. The Tunnel mostly sealed by rocks crumbling from the heavy bombardment. As you enter the tunnel, there will be lights and sound shows.

5. The Gun and Military Museum 
The tourism board made a museum of World War II guns, medals, uniforms. There you can find the museum full of collection of old guns and old pins from the Marines and the soldiers who wore them.

6. The Red Coloured Beaches
based on stories, the beaches are still colour red because of the blood that flowed from the dead bodies of soldiers from both the Japanese and Allies side. Rocks are stained with blood and can't be washed by Sea water.

Manila Hotel formerly residence to the American governors during the early 1900s and catered presidents since the days of the American Colonial Period here in the Philippines.

Owned by Business tycoon Lucio Tan and renovated in the early 90s. Now Manila Hotel is the place to hold balls, parties, and even Proms.

Although renovated but still with a touch of its classic history. Manila Hotel is one of the most known luxurious hotels in the Hotel industry in the Philippines. You won't missed Manila Hotel upon travelling in Manila.
Just a ride away from the Binondo district. You can go there maybe rent a room or two and swim all day. You can spend a night in the hotel so by night you can play billiards, and feel your youth.

Complete with ammenities like billiards, swimming, and cafe shops. You can have the time of your life even just by staying in Manila.

It's personnel are always smiling and greets you with courtesy. Never mind the price but every cent is worth of what you pay.

BEIJING: THE ANCIENT AND MODERN CAPITAL OF CHINA

Beijing was the Capital of China since early Yuan Dynasty. Constructed by the Ming Dynasty founder in the 14th century and later became the capital of the two dynasties. This place was also called the Home of the Emperor and his concubines. During the time of the New China, it was here that Chairman Mao declared that 'NEW CHINA IS ALREADY ESTABLISHED'.

January is the month when Beijing is still in midwinter. The weather reaches below 5 degrees Celcius. The people had their own dialect but had their national language which is Mandarin. The city was made up of the new district and the old district.The flight from Manila would take six hours with a stop over in Xiamen via China Southern airlines. 

The first day landing in the airport would amaze you of the might and wealth of the Chinese government. The airport is well guarded by the People's Armed police. They are ready to act anytime there is danger lurking the airport. As you go out the airport, you will notice the size of Beijing. It takes at least 1 hour of land travel to reach the city proper. Mostly modern buildings constructed by the Chinese government. 

As Confucuis would say 'to learn the new and review the old thus is the way of the gentlemen.'

 Beijing nowadays had some modern touch. It have restaurants, cafes, and luxurious hotels. The streets of Beijing are wide and mostly centuries old dating back the Yuan Dynasty. The main road of Beijing is simple yet miles far.

This was designed by the Ming Dynasty emperor for easier movement of troops and defense of the Imperial Capital.

 Under the Communist government, Beijing was transformed into a modern yet with a touch of Chinese culture. They preserved the Imperial palace where the Emperors and their concubines lived for centuries.The Forbidden City is the same size as the city of Manila in the Philippines. But as you can notice they are properly arranged and well designed. Everything is in array.

That is because in ancient times Emperors are revered as the sons of the Majestic dragon who took the yellow king to the heavens. So from the places he lived, and worked must be majestic, in array, and has a meaning. Every single piece of architecture you can find in the magnificent palaces had their own symbolism related to the goodwill and longevity of the imperial family.

As you enter the forbidden city, you will see the majestic city where concubines, eunichs, and court officials once lived. The place was vast because during the time of the dynasties for one emperor there are 800 women as his concubine, 800 court officials from military, political offices, thousands of eunichs, and 80,000 armed royal guards guarding the Imperial palace. This is the reason why the place is big and vast. It can fit 500 cars for just one courtyard.

Many of these old structures inside the forbidden city became heritage sites and not for commercial use. Although with the permission of the Chinese government, some of these small housed structures are made as souvineir shops for the tourists. It was the cold winter February in the Northern Hemisphere when I arrived and visited Beijing.

Tourism is one of the Major industry in Beijing. They tour foreign tourists to historic and heritage sites and promoting the majestic beauty of the Capital.

Beijing is also the main place of the 2008 Olympics. You can see the modern architecture touched with Chinese culture and Chinese unique, creative mind on engineering, science and technology, and arts.

PALAWAN: THE WONDERFUL TOUCH OF NATURE

An Island which lies between South China Sea and the Sulu Sea. Palawan was known for its natural environment and its wonderful wildlife since the days of President Marcos. It was also the home province of tagbanwa and the Batak tribe. Two of the many ethnic groups that can be found in the Philippines. 

The Wild life here in Palawan is abundant and rich in natural fossils. Fossils from the time of the early ice age to the time of the dinosaurs. The Journey in Palawan starts By landing in Puerto Princessa Airport just a few kilometers from the city proper. Puerto Princessa is at the center of Palawan Island. 

 Honda Bay is the first among the places to visit in a city tour. Honda Bay was known for many of the scenic spots Palawan is proud of. This includes the Underground River which is 9 meters deep. It was declared as a protected area by the late President Gloria Arroyo in the early 21st century.

Honda Bay was home to many of the Islets one is owned by the Marciliano Family named LiLu Island. The name of the islet come from the Lilitaw and Lulubog due to the rising and lowering of the tides. Snake Island was known for its name because it shapes like a snake and it is kilometers long. It will take you 3 hours to finish the entire shoreline. There are no human settlement in the Island because it was preserved by the Philippine Government as a National Park.  

For the second day of the tour, Is the journey to the majestic Ulugan Bay where the Underground River National Park was located. It was the protected area situated by the Philippine Government. It was located between the South China Sea and the Sulu Sea. It was where the Philippine Government is claiming it was part of the Philippine Territory but it wasn't.

Ulugan Bay was just at the mouth of the South China Sea. Just a few hundred kilometers from the shoreline of the Ulugan Bay was the Chinese Teritory of the Spratly Islands.

Atop of the View deck you can see this wonderful scenery with the backdrop of the South China Sea and the Ulugan Sea. Such a magnificent veiw and with this kind of untouched scenery only a few Asian  countries have this kind of natural gift.

Underground River National Park was 2 or 3 hours ride from Puerto Princessa. It north of Puerto Princessa and along the way you can see the pre historic landscape of Palawan. The Natural Rock formation  of the Mountain and how the sea carved it. There are two kinds of mosquitos can be found in Palawan. One carrying the disease of Dengue and the other are Malaria. So the visitors are often to put Mosquito repelant lotions to avoid such diseases.

 Based on the research study by the foreigners here, the rocks are millions of years old and dating back to the last Ice age. According to the Tour Guide, the caves are still full of fossils that was once living in this region.

The Rock formation was known as fossil rock. As you go along the journey you will come by a port guarded by PNP (Philippine National Police) and the Coast Guard. The Banca (a small boat in the Philippines) will take you to the Island where Underground River was located.

The Place was remained untouched by humans because it was a project of the Philippine Government to promote its Eco tourism. From the wonderful sights and places, you can truly realize that Philippines was gifted by mother nature. But there is a sad story the filipino people doesn't know how to take care and nurture it. Natural Environment replaced with human settlement like subdivisions, and others.

Every inch of the green areas are cemented and later polluted by the human population. How I wish that Puerto Princessa will not have the fate as Manila whom ate every inch of the green areas in replacement with human settlements. This made Manila one of the worst cities in the world. Fingers crossed hoping that Palawan would learn to treasure its gift and nurture it. Instead of destroying it.

TAGAYTAY:  NATURE WITH THE DORMANT VOLCANO

Tagaytay is a place in Batangas where many of the foreign tourists come and see nature. Surrounding a Volcano are islets, green areas, and small communities that consists modern Tagaytay.

For more than 3 (three) or 4(four) decades, Tagaytay became one of the main tourist attractions here in the Philippines. Although Tagaytay had already been existing since the prehistoric times. It only became a tourist attraction during the 1950s.

In a hotel in Tagaytay posted the history of Tagaytay from the pre historic times to the times of the Philippine Revolution.This picturesque is a reminder of Tagaytay through the centuries and its history. Yet maybe a nice marketing strategy for Taal Vista Hotel.

Atop the high steeps of the Tagaytay highlands, you feel breathless of the wonderful nature in front of your two

Eyes. From the distance, it may seem like a small piece of puzzle. But as you come nearer to the lake, you will realize the place was vast and big. One man is like an ant to a big garden.

But there was a sad story in this small piece of paradise. The Filipinos have lack of knowledge of caring and nurturing for mother earth. As you go near the lake shore, you see resorts, and cemented pavements.

There is a trend in the Philippines. If you see houses then the next step would be destroying the surrounding green. That trend is obvious and can be traced especially provinces near Manila. This is one of the illnesses of Capitalism. You have the money or capital to buy the land, then you have the right to destroy everything in it.

As people flock on this tourist destination, so is the abusive Filipino attitude of consuming natural resources abusively and without even thinking of ecological balance.

Only if the Filipinos will learn how to balance and attain sustainable development, the rich natural environment given by mother earth to the Philippines will be spared and thus more and more tourists will come and see such wonders.
