"IN FESTIVE CEREMONIES, IT IS BETTER TO BE SPARING THAN EXTRAVAGANT."

-Confucius

Spendthrift is one of the unique Chinese character. On parties and on festivities having a money saving attitude is one of the distinct features of being a Chinese.

Every Chinese knows money is limited and it doesn't generate on trees. So save money, be spendthrift, and keep it simple on celebrating festivities. Do not spend too much this is one of the indelible mark Confucius had for the Chinese societies through the millenias.
